The Third Best Poet Called Laurie in London…

Laurie Eaves is a writer, editor and long-distance runner from the village of Yapton.

He began performing raps about acrobatic animals in the late noughties in Norwich, where he headed up UEA Open Mic before playing guitar (badly) in Lyrical Ballads Cabaret.

Now based in London, Laurie’s work has been published by Bad Betty Press, Broken Sleep Books, fourteen poems, Fawn Press, Ink Sweat & Tears, Dear Reader, Atrium Poetry, Acumen, Poetry Rivals, Allographic Press, GUG Press, The Primer, Allographic, Riggwelter, After…, Shooter, Off the Chest and Spoken Word London. His poems have also featured in videos for Muddy Feet Poetry and Process Productions.

Today, most of Laurie’s poems are grit-and-honey pop songs about break-ups, tidying and weightlifting. He co-hosts the Dead Darlings podcast and hosts / produces Genesis Poetry Slam, Homebrew Poetry and the Vogon Poetry Slam.

His debut full-length collection Biceps is out on Burning Eye Books. Biceps is also available on cassette tape / download on Buried Vinyl.
